North Korean hackers have stolen $2.02 billion in 2025, a 51% rise year-on-year and bringing their total illicit earnings to $6.75 billion, new research has found.

And while it is no surprise that financial cybercrime is a major revenue stream helping the Kim Jong-un regime to dodge international sanctions, new innovations in their methods are helping steal more and more.
